The challenge  /

The initial brief was focused on addressing the declining performance of the website, in what is a very competitive market. There was a requirement to drive more organic traffic to the site too, both via Social and organic web traffic.

Alongside this the client wanted a more straightforward and easier to access CMS system that they could update product information and content without the need of continual developer support.

Our idea  /

As with all projects we carried out an initial audit into the site’s and Social performance to understand what needs fixing. Following this we recommended the following;
Re-building the current website in WordPress, a CMS that powers 30% of all websites on the internet due to its ease of use and extensibility.

  • Further keyword research to identify the words and phrases (search queries) entered by their target audience into search engines.
  • Optimising individual pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. This involved amending page titles, meta descriptions, <h1> tags and other headings, URLs, anchor links, call to actions and page content.
  • Creating monthly schedules of social media content, targeted at the agriculture, industrial and domestic sectors. Using Facebook advertising where necessary, this would help raise brand awareness and engagement.
  • Reporting monthly and quarterly on the social media and SEO statistics, providing recommendations which are aligned with Rhino Steel Cladding’s business objectives.

The results  /

The website was successfully re-built in WordPress following liaison with Rhino Steel Cladding’s previous agency. The website re-build resulted in, increased traffic to the website month-on-month and over 50% of their desired keywords experiencing increases or no change to rankings. In addition to this, overall engagement across all social media channels increased by 28% since the initial three months of activity.

Regular reports and catch-ups resulted in a very positive relationship with both directors at Rhino Steel Cladding, allowing us to act as a virtual marketing department which supports their marketing functions, allowing both Rob and Karen to concentrate on their day-to-day roles. This has also generated additional work including the creation of blog posts for their website.
